Argentina is a hugely varied country geographically, extending from the Chaco in the north to Tierra del Fuego in the south. To experience the tango in chic Buenos Aires is a must. In the vicinity of Buenos Aires you can stay at an Estancia on the Pampas and experience the way of life for the gauchos. The charming city of Salta is your starting point to the Northwest’s high plateaux, green oases and coloured gorges. Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian border is a great natural spectacle as some 275 waterfalls cascade into the gorge at Iguazu. Taste Argentina’s world famous wines at the foot of the Andes in Mendoza. In the southern province of Chubut Peninsula Valdes is the destination for viewing marine life including whales, elephant seals and penguins. Los Glaciares National Park in Patagonia is an unforgettable landscape of glaciers admist rugged mountains and southern beech forests.


When to visit

The south of Argentina is best visited during the months October-March. Travel to the north of the country is popular in winter when temperatures are cooler and it is drier. From mid December to the end of February, Buenos Aires can be oppressively hot and humid.
